Guppy is a street boy living in a marshy village who makes his livelihood by selling the fish of the same name Guppy. So the people started calling him as the Guppy. His father died when he approached towards the sea for fishing. So to earn for him and his mother (Rohini), he sells fishes. He wanted to buy the automatic wheelchair for his paralyzed mother. But the story gets a turn when a civil engineer Thejas Varkey comes with a plan to build a bridge in the village of Guppy. The rest of the story illustrates the ego fight between the duo and how they resolve the matter.

Analysis: John Paul George made a good decision in his debut with this film. It showed the audience a new concept. The posters and the trailers already made it so popular that people were waiting to get it released soon. John has done a fabulous job as a director and a writer. He has written the dialogues and done the screenplay. As a debutant, he has succeeded in all the factors. There are no boring moments and hence made the audience interest till the end. All the characters appeared very real with their dialogues.

There are many emotional scenes shared between Guppy and his mother. They are depicted beautifully. It portrays the struggle of a kid with the real world so that he can afford an automatic wheelchair for his disabled mother. The director mixed all the emotions in the right ratio and came up with a perfect movie. The music is awesome and had got many fans.

Star Performances: Chetan performed the role well of a loving son. His kindness and affection for her mother touched many hearts. He maintained the character on both sides- one towards the mother of love and affection, and the one towards engineer of conflict and ego. Tovino also did his part amazing. His acting, performance, and the egoistic character made him the best in Mollywood. The supporting cast supported a lot in making it a successful project.

What is there? The characters chosen by the director is perfect. Guppy grasped all the attention through his performance. What is not there? The theme is small and often gets diverged from its original plot. It could have been more compelling so that it can be able to convince those people who are not interested in watching serious themes. The screenplay dawdles somewhere and the VFX effects need improvement so that it does not let down the team hard work in other aspects.

Verdict: On the whole, the movie has got some very special and entertaining moments. This should not be missed and is worth watching. No one will get disappoint with it.
