Plot

Joy is a law student, born into a wealthy family. He was in jail for eight years, and later when he tries to be a better person, destiny brings him more trouble. The remainder of the story deals with this.

Star performance

Vishnu Govindan’s direction stands out in this movie. The role given to Sasikumar is perfect, he has handled it very well. Noby Marcose and Vinay Fort’s acting is good. The comedy role played by Joju George and S.P.Sreekumar is hilarious to watch. All the other actors have done their job well. The editor connects every scene very creatively and keeps up the level of excitement scene after scene. The Brilliant job of the art director can be seen in the background pictures of the credits, they are significant images. A perfect social message is conveyed through this movie.

Analysis

Joy is a law student, even though his name suggests happiness, his life provides him the opposite. After his eight years of life in jail, he is trying to bring up a suitable career in his life, but destiny pulls him back. His mother died when he was two years old, from then he did not acquire proper care and love, and this has affected him psychologically. Andrew, the father of Joy, is a businessman. Due to his adamant behavior, Joy did not get to know love and care after his mother died.

Vishnu Vinay who enacted the role of Joy could have done a better job, his expressions remain the same in most situations. The direction is excellent; even though Vishnu Govindan is a beginner in direction, it was not visible in his work. In this movie, the camera conveyed the story brilliantly, all the scenes were smooth and there were no disturbances. The Music composed is perfect for the situation, it was able to portray the emotions of the movie properly. Extraordinary editing can be seen, and the linkage to each scene is smooth and creative.

The lack of care and love during the primitive ages provided Joy with a reckless life, later he suffers for his careless acts. Usage of drugs and alcohol is harmful; it is very well portrayed in this movie. Being in jail for eight years changed Joy’s life completely, but for society, once a criminal is always a criminal, this reflects when he attempts to obtain a job. People show criminal behaviors for a variety of reasons, including personal circumstances or socio-economic factors, but imprisonment is provided as a punishment for them to reflect on their acts and regrets. In this movie, they have portrayed the feelings and emotions of an imprisoned person who tries to improve his life after his jail term.

Overall, this movie conveys a very good social message for the youth. Destiny’s role in a person’s life and the idea that whatever is meant for you will find its way is portrayed well through this movie.

‘History of Joy’ is a feel-good drama that all types of audiences will like. It is exciting to watch. It has an excellent social message for the youth.
