A tale about the combination of errors and mismanagement in life, Vrudhanmare Sookshikkuka, is a comic thriller. The story makes us explore the possibilities of the people going to lengths, to remove their despairs. The movie keeps you in splits, sometimes natural and sometimes forced, once every few minutes.

Plot

We come across two young men, who are best friends and discussing their sorrows. They come across a senior group organizing a trip for old age people to a hotel. They try to impersonate the old, tag along with the party and plan to win the prize. As they reach the hotel, misfortune strikes the grand place, and everyone is held, hostage. The owner and her boyfriend are the only ones to save all of them. Will the hostages be rescued? Will everyone be safe? Will the culprits be punished? Does it end well for the men? For the above, watch the movie.

Analysis

Vrudhanmare Sookshikkuka tries to be funny, and does almost succeed in being so, but nevertheless, it does fail in the end. One tries hard to sympathize with the protagonists after their rollercoaster ride shown in the movie. Two male friends, a senior citizen group's trip, prizes and a dumb-witted idea, gives rise to the story of this film. An idea which was going to give them memories they were going to regret afterwards. This tragedy of errors is plain funny. The ending is not something that stays with you after you leave the theater. It basically throws away sense, to the side, and carries on with silly antics, bound to make you giggle. You'll probably laugh it off and won't think of it ever again.

Star Performances

The main leads exhibit a friendship which almost seems as if real. The combination of actors, Dileep and Jayaram ensures that the entertainment goes on even when the script dips down to a low. The chemistry between all the actors is good. The supporting cast provides a few laughs in between when the screenplay becomes monotonous and boring. Though everyone has acted decently in the movie, none of them were good enough to be applauded. The characters sometimes mouth dialogues as if learned. This movie is not exactly, the kind of story which would make an actor or an actress win awards.

What's there?

1. The essence of friendship, and the fun and stupidity it brings along.

2. The despairs of regular people.

3. The comic elements brought about by various characters and situations.

4. A few characters impress the audience with their comic timing and natural expressions.

What's not there?

1. The script should have been more refined. Few comedy scenes looked forced upon, and other few makes one wonder, about the humor used.

2. The silly and lame jokes on equally weird situations.

Verdict:

Watch it for some quick laughter, or you can skip it too. This movie is on the border line of the question, to watch or not to watch.
