Gethu has been making rounds for quite some time and now it has come as a Pongal bonanza for the fans. Well, a promising actor, who wants to make it big in the film industry, will sometimes take two paths. Firstly, he will get a complete image makeover. Second he endeavors into production. Dhanush, Suriya is a couple of actors who have embraced these two paths with utmost earnest. Well, Gethu is the production venture of Udhayanidhi, and he also has taken up the protagonist role in this movie. Well, let’s see whether Udayanidhi turns out a winner as a producer and actor, in Gethu.Â
Plot
A picture perfect father and son…..a murder case….emerging successfully….well, do you remember the days in your school when you had to add words in the middle? Well, try doing that for this film too..I know, by now you would have added the romance element too. Finally it’s the age-old good over evil that is the crux of this film.Â

Udhay has made use of this chance with utmost sincerity, which is evident in his portrayal.

has limited scope to perform, but she does what is required of her. Vikranth has got a meaty role and he has grabbed the opportunity. Sathyaraj has acted well is an understatement and in Gethu too he proves why he is sustaining in the industry for a long time. Karunas, as always, does his comedy part well while Anuradha and Avinash have done a neat job.Â

The romantic track between Udhay and Amy lacks intensity.Â

You can either give verdict going by the good image makeover of Udhayanidhi or by the high standards of perfection set for a quality film.Â
