Plot: Iru Mugan is an Sci-Fi thriller based on the global espionage. Vikram has acted in dual characters Akhilan (RAW agent) and Love Love is an Indian TV serial in the Telugu language >> Read More... (transgender). For the very first time, he has acted as a transgender and his style of acting has touched the hearts of many. The story is based on the attacks of Indian Embassy in Malaysia and the chemical smuggling by ‘Love’ in general medicines. Akhilan takes charge of this case and moves to Malaysia with Aarushi (Nithya Menen). Halena (Nayantara) comes as Akhilan’s wife in flashback portions. She gets killed by Love. Akhilan takes the task of locking horns with Love and this time what he does to pay back for his wife's death forms the rest of the story.

Analysis: The first half of the movie started off well at a good speed, it has kindled the interest of the audience in the scene before intermission, by making them sit anxiously wait for the second half. The movie seem to be dragging at the second half. The movie could have had a fast screenplay. The music by Harris is pleasing to the ears and excellent as usual. Cinematography by RD Rajasekhar is really a visual treat to the audience.

Star Performance: Vikram is found donning a dual role in the film and the effort and hard work done is tremendous and needs special appreciation. The variation are seen in his character's Akhilan (RAW agent) and Love (transgender & scientist). Nayantara as Halena, paired with Vikram for the first time is really picture perfect on screen with Akhilan character. Nithya Menen as Aarushi has done justice to her role . The supporting actors are Nassar, Thambi Ramiah and Riythvika who have played a significant role in the movie.

What's There ?

1.Vikram performance is commendable.

2.Cinematography by RD Rajasekhar is worth watching.

3. Harris Jayaraj music is a treat to the audience.

What's Not There?

1. Movie is droning in the second half.

2. Screenplay could have been better.

Verdict: The action thriller is worth watching for the performance of Vikram, the screenplay which makes the movie a moderate rating. People who like watching action-thriller would like to watch it at least once.
