Priyamanavalae Movie Review

This movie is a kind of a replacement of ‘Pavithra Bandhan’, a Telugu film and is also very identical to the Hindi film, ‘ Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. The movie is about a woman who belongs to a family with many problems and then gets a husband with a negative character, but at the end, he admits his mistakes and proves to be a loving and a good partner. The movie was a blockbuster with a good response from people.

Plot: Vijay (Vijay), son of the industrialist Viswanathan (SPB), returns to home after completing his education from abroad. He follows only the western culture and wants to enjoy the life and is not interested in marriages and handling businesses. To make Vijay a responsible person in life, Viswanathan asks him to get married, but he gets shocked when he listens to Vijay’s condition that he is ready to get married, but it should be valid only for one year. This makes Viswanathan worried because no girl in the town will accept this condition. So he describes this agreement to Priya (Simran). She is his personal secretary. He appeals her to marry his son, in the belief that Vijay’s thoughts will get transformed if a girl like Priya, who is sensible and trustworthy, will marry Vijay.

Since Priya was only the earning member in her family, so to solve all her family problems, she agreed to marry Vijay. They both get married finally for one year. They were transferring money illegally to other parties. Vijay made a police complaint, and they both got arrested. As revenge, they both planned to kill Vijay and made him injured through an accident. Priya then helps Vijay to recover from his injuries by taking good care of him. Now, it was the time of their first marriage anniversary, where everyone got shocked when Vijay announced that the wedding agreement is over, and he takes Priya to her home. This behavior of Vijay hurt Priya a lot.

After some days, on seeing a beggar, at the traffic signal, begging along with his wife on his back, Vijay realizes all his faults and feels shameful that he didn’t take care of his wife. He then goes to Priya’s house and asks her to return to him, but Priya refuses. Priya got a new job in another company. To gain the love of Priya, Vijay took the control of that company too. In the baby shower function of Priya, they both insulted each other. Now Vijay, along with his friends makes a plan to impress Priya and plays a trick that Vijay is injured by his ex-employees who were sent to jail.

They thought that they will lie to Priya and she will unite with Vijay. However, Priya gets to know about their plan, and she goes there to meet them. But the twist comes when in the real, both the ex-employees ran away from jail to kill Vijay. They injured him terribly with the knife. To save Vijay’s life, Priya tries to help him, but she fell down and got injured as she was pregnant. Somehow, Vijay tolerates his pain and reaches the hospital with Priya where they both get treated and lived happily.

Analysis: This is the second movie of Vijay, Simran, and the director Selva Barathy with a concept of family drama, along with romance. It has shown the necessity of Indian Tradition and marriages, to the young generation who are not aware of this. The story is very entertaining; that is why there is no reason of getting bored. A new concept of agreement marriage has come up which is beautifully handled by the characters.

Star Performances: This movie has given a new level to Vijay’s career, after doing some unsuccessful films. Simran has also proved her acting and performed according to the role required. Vivek’s comedy scenes made the movie weaker. It was not necessary, especially from the poor actor like him.

What is there? There were emotions, family drama, Indian versus Western culture, comedy, violence, religious tradition. The director with his old team came back with the new concept. The music is good. The movie maintains the audience’s interest by showing the twist and turns.

What is not there? The fight at the end was not required, it unnecessarily created violence and disturbed the audiences with the story. But since, both the films of Telugu and Hindi ended like this, so the director had to maintain it.

Verdict: The movie is quite entertaining and must be watched.
