Plot

Kamal Haasan, who hails from Sri Lanka, is afraid of anything in the world. He doesn’t have specific fear, he is just “afraid”. And to add spice to the story there is rivalry between two psychiatrists, Delhi Ganesh Delhi Ganesh is one of the veteran Tamil actors, b >> Read More... and Jayaram. With the idea of damaging the reputation of Jayaram, Delhi Ganesh sends the seemingly incurable Kamal to him for treatment. Is Kamal given adequate treatment? Are all his phobias cured? Star Performances

You cannot but be in awe of Kamal’s acting skill while he portrays the role of Thenali from Srilanka. He excels in all the scenes especially the one in which he is being interviewed by a famous channel. Jayaram stuns us with his negative-turned-positive role while Jyothika does her part well. The rest of the cast including Devayani, Delhi Ganesh, Ramesh Khanna Ramesh Khanna is Tamil Film director and actor. Ra >> Read More... , are convincing.

Analysis

Director K S Ravikumar has the knack of lacing the right dosage of comedy with action and sentiments. He has done a neat job in executing the film.

What’s there?

  • The dialogues of Crazy Mohan Crazy Mohan was born as Mohan Rangachari on Octobe >> Read More... (who is mostly at his best in Kamal’s films) are witty and will gain applause from the audiences.
  • The stunt scene following the prompting of Kamal by a mouse is worth applause, credit to Vikram Dharma.
  • The way Kamal utters the dialogues, in his native accent, is worth kudos.
  • Music by A R Rehman gels well with the tempo of the film.
  • Cinematography by Priyan and editing by Thanikachalam are commendable.

What’s not there?

The flashback as to why Kamal has so many phobias could have been more intense.

Verdict
