. Cable Shankar is the director of the movie Thottal Thodarum. The synopsis of the film Thottal Thodarum is Madhu, a young lady exchanges her photograph with that of a reporter who is about to be killed, with an intention to get the insurance money for her family. The killer, who is hired to kill the reporter, chases Madhu to murder her. This is the debut movie of the writer Cable Shankar.Â
Madhu is from a middle class family. Her family is deeply in need of money. Madhu and Shiva meet accidentally and as usual in all the Tamil films, the hero and the heroine starts loving each other after few misunderstandings. Madhu has a step brother, who meets an accident. To save him, there is no way for Madhu and that is why she replaces her photo instead of the reporter, who was planning to be killed. When Madhu is killed, her family will get the insurance amount and with which his step brother’s surgery could be successfully carried out. When Madhu feels that what she had done is an utter stupidity, she has no chance to escape from the killer.Â
The positive thing in this movie by Cable Shankar is the story revolves around the heroine. Madhu takes in charge of everything; she makes herself a prey for the sake of his brother. She is the decider for all the actions taken by her. This is totally a different move in Tamil cinema. A scene, in which the hero plans to make the heroine to appear before the killer with an intention to catch him, looks rubbish. It should have been taken in a different way. All the incidents in this film are interlinked with one another. The reporter who is about to be murdered tries to save Madhu is a good note in this story. Thottal Thodarum continues like a mega serial!
