Plot

Balagam is a beautiful village in Telangana. Gajulu Komurayya is an elderly inhabitant of this village. A much respected and reputed elder loved by everyone in the village, he dies one fine morning. The death of Komurayya causes disruption in the family and village, with chaos unfolding everywhere. Sayilu is the grandson of Komurayya. He is a spender and has taken a loan from a creditor, which he is yet to repay. He appeases the creditors with the promise of repayment, out of the dowry that he is to receive from his fiancee’. However, the death of his grandfather disrupts his plan, with his family and relatives faulting the bride as the reason for their beloved’s death. The marriage, as a result, falls through. So Sayilu tries to captivate the heart of his cross-cousin by birth, Sandhya, whose father is wealthy. His plan initially fails. The plot unveils to show whether he could succeed her hand, whether he let go of his guilt, and whether the elder finally had a peaceful resting.

Star Performance

The acting of Sudhakar Reddy was captivating. He was well able to express the role of his character, and he did this with much ease and elegance. In Komurayya, Sudhakar acted best as an old village elder beloved to all. Priyadarshi’s role was also commendable. His portrayal of the prodigal grandson was apt and accurate. He was well able to portray the character development of Sayilu. Analysis The movie was heartwarming. It had excellent background music, and the intro song was great. The work of Venu Yeldandi deserves applause for its elements of realism that were present throughout the film. It had elements of comedy and drama and gave a great message to the story. It provides a peek into the life and minds of village people, who are simple but often superstitious. The beauty of the village is highlighted and portrayed beautifully.

What’s There?

  •  There was great acting from everyone.
  •  The background music and scores were apt and fitting to the village background.

What’s Not There?

  •  There was no uniqueness of idea.

Verdict

It is a simple story well done. It is realism at its best. A one-time watch.
