Diwakar Babu Diwakar Babu is a Telugu writer based in India. He >> Read More... is a noted writer.  Srikar Babu is his son, and he has become a director through the movie Musugu.  The movie falls into the category of romance which is intertwined with a crime.  Being a crime thriller, audiences might be drawn to theaters to get a visual treat. One should read the review to know whether or not the movie suffices the expectations.

Plot

The plot begins with Manoj and Pujasri.  The couple is just on the verge of starting a business related to resorts in the tourist spot of Goa.  In course of time, Manoj is drawn towards Jessi, who works as an insurance agent.  He develops a close tie with her.  Something quite unexpected happens when greed takes over.  Manoj and Jessi contemplate on evicting Pooja for the insurance money after her murder.   They draw a sketch, and when they land up at the resort, they find that Pooja has already put an abrupt end to her life.  Manoj and Jessi are in a dilemma.  There are many unanswered questions for which the entire plot of the movie gives an answer.

Star Performances

Although the actors in the movie are new faces, they have done their job well. The villainy projected by both Manoj and Jessi grips the attention of the audiences.

Analysis

The film could have been better if there were not too many songs in the movie.  But, some songs are quite appealing to hear.  The cinematography is worth enjoying.  But, as a whole, the values of the production in the movie do not meet the expectations.  The editing could have been much better.  The background music leaves a lingering effect even after one leaves the theater.  The director is to be appreciated for the plot.  But the narration lacks life in it.  However, the unexpected twists in the movie with suspense intertwined in them manage to retain the audiences in their seats.

What is there?

  • The plot is a novel effort.
  • The backdrop is Goa, and it is a big visual treat to the fans.
  • The director has beautifully handled the suspense in the movie.  The scenes in the climax pull the audiences to the edge of their seats.

What is not there?

  • The scenes before the interval cause a big yawn among the audiences.
  • There is no priority given to emotions in the movie.
  • The movie scenes are a bit slow in unfolding.  After the interval, some scenes seem to be bland to the audiences.
  • There is no proper continuity in the story.

Verdict

The story could have drawn repeat audiences to the theater if the way it had been implemented was better.  Overall, there are better movies for the weekend.
