The trailer begins by showing a newly born boy child in the arms of his mother. The boy is told by a man that there would be great things in store for him. The boy narrates the story of his birth and how the political and economic conditions unfolded during his lifetime. The celebrations made upon the declaration of Indian Independence are very rumbustious. He says that children of his age are the promises of Independence. It narrates their strive for unity amidst massive turbulence and confusion. The video showcases the praises showered on the movie by critics.

A total of ten videos have been released for the film including two videos and eight movie clips. The film is based on the novel written by Salman Rushdie. It has been directed by Academy Award Nominated director Deepa Mehta. It narrates the story of a boy named Saleem, who was born exactly at the time when India attained Independence. Throughout the movie, he tells how the country was before getting Independence during his grandparent’s generation and how it has transformed after the Independence.

The movie also describes the tumultuous relationship between Saleem and his father Shiva due to many political, economic and social factors. It describes Saleem’s struggles after the nation gets divided and how he longs to unite with his friends. The portrayal of the emotional journey has been exceptional. The movie has received mixed to negative response from the critics. It has been shown at Toronto International Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival.
