H. Anand, initially credited as Master Anand, is an Indian film and television actor in Kannada language. He started his career as a child actor, in 1990s films like Phani Ramachandra's Gauri Ganesha(1991), S. Mahendra's Thayi Illada Thavaru (1994) and Kishore Sarja's Makkala Sakshi(1994). He received the best child actor award for these three films and kept the title “Master” with his name even when he debuted as a lead actor in Kannada movies.
Master Anand also made a popular appearance in an adult lead role in film ‘Friends’ that released in 2002 and was a critically successful commercial cinema. Later on, after some of his excellent performance on screen as a lead actor, people had seen him taking an interest in the direction of TV serials. His first debut as a TV serial director happened in the year 2010 with a traditional serial drama named ‘SSLC Nan Maklu’ which was aired on Asianet Suvarna. He then took up a challenge to direct a movie ‘5 Idiots’ in the year 2011 which met with average reviews from critics and audiences. Following the success of his first TV series, he again directed ‘Paddegalu’ TV series for Asianet Suvarna. Later on, he appeared as a participant in a reality show ‘Dancing Stars’ that was aired on Colors Kannada, and he emerged as a winner in the grand finale. The actor set the stage of dance program ‘Dancing Stars’ on fire by scoring thirty out of thirty.
Judged like Priya Mani, Mayuri Upadhya, Crazy Star Ravichandran who were judges for the show had praised him. Master Anand got a standing ovation from the judges and viewers in the show. Later, he was involved in directing another TV series ‘Robo Family’ for Colors Kannada. The actor has so far acted in over 60 films and made a mark in his career as a director and actor in both small and big screen.
