Sahithya, who calls herself an average tambrahm, once braided her hair into two plaits and wore those large fat glasses, also known in Tamil as 'soda budi, ’, had no idea that some day, she would walk the ramp that would help her scale heights in life. Her ideals and mindset changed when she was in class seven; she decided she wanted to do something in fashion. Having been a geek back then with books being her best friends, she was one among 40,000 children to have been selected to get to talk with a few from the ISRO. During the incident, when asked what do you want to do in the future, She recalled saying “All you scientists dress like shit, and I want to do something about that!”, she gained all the more confidence since all of them present at that meeting, didn’t get irritated. On the contrary, they were rather happy and ended up taking pictures with her. Having scored well in her boards, she then decided to pursue design in NID, Ahmedabad. However, she realized she lacks the passion for it, quit it after two years and went back to Chennai. She then pursued journalism at M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women, Nungambakkam. On one occasion, she happened to be taking a break with her friends at a mall near college. At the mall, she saw this store, Rehane and decided to take up a job there.
Without second thoughts, with passion for Fashion, she courageously walked up there and asked them for a job at their store, which she honestly had no idea that she would get. During her work there, she befriended a model who encouraged her to pursue modelling by taking part in this Miss Chennai 2009 pageant. Having bagged the Miss Chennai crown, she then went on to represent India at Korea in the World Miss University Pageant, in the year 2010, where she bagged the trophy for Miss speech. In her modelling career, she has walked the ramp for Chennai International fashion week for both seasons 1 and 3, designers; Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Ritu Kumar and for big brands like Volkswagen, Wrangler, Reebok, Toni and Guy and GRT. She was also shortlisted in Femina Miss India Contest in the year 2014, to be one of the Top 25 contestants. She was also ranked to be the Chennai’s most desirable no:14, in the year 2014. She not only experimented with modelling but acting as well, her debut film was in Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham, as Samantha’s friend in the movie.
She then went on to play the protagonist in another Tamil film titled, Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam (2014), and she then went on to star in another film in the year 2015, Andhadhi. About her personal life, she is currently in a relationship with Cary Edwards whom she happened to meet while training herself for self-defence classes.
Gayathri more popularly known as Gayathri arun, is a popular Malayalam actress who acts mainly in TV serials which are telecasted on Asianet TV. Gayathri is currently seen acting in the hit, successful and popular TV show of Asianet TV, “Parasparam” as the main female protagonist of the show and essaying the role of Deepthi.
Gayathri is basically from the Alappuzha district of Kerala and currently living with her husband, who works as a Sales Manager in a Multinational Organization. They are blessed with a baby girl. In real life too, Gayathri’s character resembles Deepthi as she also had an ambition of becoming an actress but thankfully in real life she did not had to struggle like Deepthi, told Gayathri Arun in a recent interview to the Vanitha magazine. Hence, actress Gayathri Arun thinks that it seems to her that the role of Gayathri Arun is tailor made for her only.
Her performance in Parasparam shot her to instant fame and made her a household name and since then, she has been flooded with offers from films and serials but Gayathri wants to keep things simple and does not want to compromise on her family life. Gayathri Arun for her brilliant acting in Parasparam won the 2014 “Best Face Heroine Award” in the Asianet Television Awards which was held in Kozhikode.
Gayathri Arun is also a trained singer and has been a guest judge on Asianet TVs reality singing show Idea Star Singer. Parasparam started airing on Asianet TV in the year 2013 and is still going strong till date.
