Plot

Sara Mohammed is a visually challenged girl. When her parents were away for a wedding function, she was alone at home. Using this situation, a person entered the house and abused her. The bold Sara and her parents lodged a complaint. Sara is an expert sculptor and she sculpted the guy’s face. With the sculpture as an evidence, the police arrested Michael Joseph, a biggie’s son. Soon, the case gets a hearing in the court. The biggie hires a leading lawyer to get his son out of the case and gets the bail. Sara and her family don’t want this case to let go. CI Paul Varghese was the investigating officer. He recommends Vijayamohan, a talented advocate, who is not currently practising law. Initially, Vijayamohan denies to take the case. Later, Vijayamohan’s friend requests him to meet the victim once and then decide to take the case. What did Vijayamohan do? Did he take the case? The rest of the film deals with this.

Star Performance

Mohanlal once again proved that he is a natural actor. His arguing style and looks are adorable. Siddique plays the leading lawyer, who appears for the criminal. The way he tortures the victim with his words make the audience hate him. His performance was so real. Priyamani has nothing significant to do. Jagdish played the victim’s father and his expressions were awesome. Anaswara is the show stealer. Her performance as the visually challenged girl is appreciable. Her dialogues with Mohanlal are simple, yet inspiring.

Analysis

Jeethu Joseph always gives importance to families and relationships. In this story, one family tries to save their criminal son with their money and another family tries to get justice for their innocent daughter. Mohanlal’s role is finely shaped and he fits perfectly in it. We can’t even think of any other actor in his place. His expressive eyes speak more than the words. The scene when he visits the victim for the first time to say that he won’t be able to take up the case was shot really well. His interaction with Anaswara and the transformation scenes are impressive. The screenplay goes at a medium pace, neither slow nor fast. The visuals are neat and the BGM is pretty decent.

Verdict

The movie with good performances brings a message that the victims should not keep themselves isolated, but come out bold and fight for justice. Neru – Watchworthy!
