Plot

Perumal Pichai’s sons who were in Sri Lanka, come to India to take revenge on Aarusamy, who killed their father. The three sons including Ravana Pichai, kill Aarusaamy and Bhuvana. After 28 years, Aarusamy's son Raam Saamy, who also becomes a police officer get those criminal sons of Perumal Pichai, who had established a huge money laundering Network in India and the efforts made by Saamy to catch them is the story.

Star performance

Vikram had performed as a sincere police officer Saamy. As usual, he excelled in his character, the dialogue delivery and action sequences. Keerthy Suresh comes as a template heroine and she has nothing big to do in this film. Aishwarya Rajesh tried to replace Trisha Krishnan, but her Brahmin slang doesn't match at all. Bobby Simha does a good job and Soori's comedy didn't attract.

Analysis

Hari had been successful with the Saamy, Singam 1 and 2. But, he had failed to impress audiences with the sequels. As the scenes resemble that of Hari's previous movies, the audiences lost their interest. Similarly, the music by Devi Sri Prasad is not much impressive and a lot of characters are underwritten too. Although the film comes with multiple star cast, we could say that none get the importance in the film.

Verdict

When Vikram’s fans had been highly expecting this film, as his movies had been made serious flops in the recent days, Saamy 2 too didn’t attract them. This is also an average movie from Vikram although he looks majestic and young. The film failed to impress the audiences with the repetitive scenes from Hari’s previous films. If you want to watch Vikram's action sequences and the romance with Keerthy, you could try this movie!
