Authur is an English kid’s TV Show that originated in the country of the United States and Canada. It is an animated series. It enjoyes immense popularity among kids and is currently airing the 20th season. Each season had more than ten episodes; the first season itself airing a total of thirty episodes. The show revolves around an aardvark, which is shown sporting spectacles in the series and his life. Mark Rendall played the prinary character of Arthur Read, in season one. The series also had many fun characters like Muffy Crosswire and Nigel Ratburn played by Melissa Altro and Arthur Holden respectively, in season one.

The first episode of the season one aired on the TV, on 7 October, 1996. It was titled Authur’s eyes and Francine’s Bad Hair Day. In the episode, Authur shared with D.W. the reason why he got spectacles and how he is bullied and made fun of because of his spectacles. Simultaneously, on a parallel track we are shown how Mutty wished to click a pretty picture of Francine since she has none.

She takes Mutty to the salon to dress up her for the photoshoot. However, while playing kickball, Mutty ends up spoiling her hair and dress. Joe Fallon and Kathy Wagh, both of which collaborated and wrote different episodes for the series wrote the first episode of the season one. Gary Capelle and Saro who too worked on several episodes, at different times, boarded the story of the first episode. The story writers and many such important backstage crew were different for different episodes, each season.

The last episode of the season one was telecasted on 15 November, 1996. Nineteen more seasons followed season one with second season having nearly twenty episodes while from season four, each season telecasted ten episodes each. Currently, the 20th season of the TV series is being aired. It is touted to be the shortest season of the TV series with just 7 episodes. The first episode of the season twenty aired on 10 October, 2016. It was titled Buster’s Second Chance and also Authur and the Whole Truth. The last episode of season twenty will be aired on 1 June, 2017.

Over the years, several actors gave their voices to the primary characters. However, the last 20th season saw most casting changes. Currently, Jacob Ursomarzo is giving voice to Authur Read. The makers also released a DVD of season one, two, three, four and five. However, this DVD was only available in the Europe. The show is being aired on PBS network.
