Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American television series of the fantasy-horror genre, which originally released in 1997. Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Mutant Enemy Productions, this series was telecast on The Warner Bros. network till 2001 and then on Unlimited Paramount Network till 2003.

This TV series released after a 1992 film of the same name. In 2007, the comic book series released as a continuation. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about a “Slayer” named Buffy Summers, who is one of the young women destined to fight the evils of the world and protect it. She, being the chosen one, is bestowed with superhuman powers and abilities which include enhanced physical and mental strength and a second sight through dreams. She, like all slayers, is helped by a “Watcher” , Rupert Giles, whose job is to aid the Slayers by providing insightful information about the evil, supernatural creatures and help defeat them. Unlike previous Slayers who lead a solitary life and operated on their own, Buffy has two High School friends, Willow Rosenberg and Xander Harris, who help her.

\There is an interesting disparity between Buffy, who is outgoing and academically poor, and Willow, who is introverted and studious. Along with the story, Willow grows into an aggressive, potent witch who later reveals herself to be gay. Xander, on the other hand, is someone without any supernatural powers but possesses an athletic body and induces humor into the show. Angel, Buffy’s boyfriend, leaves her and goes on a journey to redeem himself due to his actions in the past as a Vampire. Several others, both supernatural and mundane, join her and come to form a group known as the “Scooby Gang” .

The gang gradually keeps expanding with people like Daniel “Oz” Osbourne, a werewolf, and Jenny Calender who is the computer teacher who destroys a cyberspace demon and later becomes Gile’s love interest. In Buffy’s final year, she meets another Slayer named Faith. Faith was called upon to be a Slayer when Kendra Young, herself a slayer, was killed by a Vampire. She initially fights for the good along with Buffy and the gang until she unintentionally kills a human being. This murder results in consequences which make her side with Mayor Richard Wilkins and go against Buffy. She, later, goes to jail on her will and returns to fight The First Evil alongside Buffy.
