Grey Anatomy’s Season 10 premiered on 26 September 2013 on ABC, and it concluded on 15 May 2014. It is set in the surgical wing of the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital which is located in Seattle, Washington. It takes the story of surgical interns, fellows, residents and attendings working in the hospital forward. After the storm, doctors try to care for victims but ER gets filled. Bailey sends Shane to find Richard who is still unconscious in the basement which she asks Heather to do who is also electrocuted while helping Richard. Meredith gives birth to a baby boy, and Arizona tries to get back with Callie after cheating on her but she denies. Arizona learns that Callie left the home with Sofia. Derek fails to save Heather so Shane feels guilty. Richard is saved, and Jackson rejects April so she continues her engagement with Matthew. Owen and Cristina try to stay apart after their split. Arizona finds Callie in Meredith’s house and is desperate to see Sofia.

Callie finally gives Sofia to Arizona after Cristina convinces her. April passes her board exams, and Cristina encourages Alex to go ahead with Jo. A fundraiser gala is organized to raise money for the damage where an entertainer falls on organizer causing serious injuries. Alex sees his dad in ER, while Meredith & Derek returns after their leave. Jo tries to mend the relationship between Alex and his dad. Callie kicks Arizona out from her apartment. Meredith decides to do a surgery with Cristina but fails because of consoling Zola and having to the breast pump for which she gets angry on Derek as he did not receive the call. Meredith has to decide her topic of research so she decides to go ahead with her mother’s research. Alex starts getting closer to his dad but his dad reveals that he has a family in Florida and speaks ill of Alex’s mother. Leah tells residents about her fling with Arizona.

Webber reappoints Meredith to help to teach 2nd Year residents. Ben tells Bailey that he dropped out of his residency to spend some time with her. Cristina betrays Meredith by destroying her 3-D printed liver. Callie has to face a lawsuit which an Olympic athlete filed against her for which her father comes to support her. It is revealed that they chose a sperm donor to inseminate Arizona as they wanted a second child but in one of the check-ups they found that Arizona has miscarried. Callie’s father convinces Callie to give a second chance to Arizona by revealing his betrayal of her mother. Owen and Derek doubt Bailey’s mental and physical health, while Arizona tells about her and Leah to Callie. April tells Jackson her reasons to not invite him to her wedding. With help of Webber, Bailey accepts her disease, while April’s sisters arrive at the hospital to give her a bridal shower which does not go as planned and she dethrones them from the bridesmaid, announcing Arizona, Meredith and Cristina as her bridesmaids.

A federal initiative that Derek is working with wants to use his name for support but he denies so that Meredith has more time for her research. Meredith and Cristina again argue but later start mending their differences. Meredith and Cristina start mending things between them, while Bailey blames Ben for her OCD. During the wedding ceremony, Derek gets a call from President of United States and Jackson confesses his feelings for April. Arizona decides to end her marriage with Callie but later buys a new house with her to give their relation a last chance. Jo turns down Alex’s emotional proposal of marriage feeling that they are not ready, but she stays with him when his father dies. Bailey and Ben get back to talking, and Ben continues his internship at Grey Sloan.

Stephanie tries to accept the fact that Jackson broke their relationship only for April, and with Leah’s encouragement, someone makes an HR complaint in support of the interns about sexual harassment from their attendings which causes HR department to implement a strict non-fraternization policy which is problematic for Jackson and April as they eloped three weeks ago. Because of it, Alex, April, Jackson, and Jo are trying to hide their relationships, but in a meeting that was held for Jo and Alex, Jackson and April reveal that they are getting married for which Alex gets suspended. Owen and Emma decide their future together, but it ends when Owen sleeps with Cristina. Derek’s interview with President gets cancelled by a call that they want him to run the advisory board for the whole project.

Stephanie tells Jackson that she is over him, while Callie gets to know that Leah was behind the complaint which results in another talk between her and Arizona. Callie convinces Derek to tell White House to remove sole ownership policy if they want him to work for them. Cristina while working on a case thinks about two different scenarios of her life which can happen with Owen. A virus attacks the hospital which spreads quickly so Meredith gives a speech which Derek was to give on brain mapping. Alex gets a proposal from a doctor running his own practice which he accepts after discussing with Jo. Cristina is announced as a nominee for Harper Avery Award which makes Meredith and Bailey jealous. Callie and Arizona discuss to have another baby, and Owen encourages.

April & Jackson have their first big fight, and Meredith & Derek struggle between work and parenthood. Cristina goes to award ceremony alone as both Owen and Meredith are busy but she is surprised when she sees both of them there, but she loses. Richard plans to propose Catherine Avery and learns that Cristina did not win because the hospital is owned by Harper Avery Foundation. April is pregnant, and Alex leaves the hospital. Cristina is convinced to speak at a hospital in Switzerland where one of the questioners is Burke, and he offers her his place at his hospital. April and Jackson mend their relationship. The residents learn about one of them getting fired. Owen tries to keep Cristina at Grey Sloan Hospital.

Jackson & April decides to not tell anyone about the baby yet, and Callie gets to know that she cannot carry a baby. Leah is cut from the residency program, Derek gets a job offer from National Institutes of Health and he also brings job offer for Meredith at James Madison Hospital, and Amelia reveals that she wants to break her relationship to settle in Seattle. The day Cristina decides to leave for Zurich, a bomb blast happens, and she cannot leave without having a dance with Meredith, while Shane decides to go to Zurich. Meredith tells Derek that she will not leave Seattle, while Callie and Arizona think to have a surrogate mother for their baby. Bailey is nominated for Cristina’s position by Webber, but Cristina has already left it to Karev. In the end, it is revealed that Ellis Grey was the birth mother of Maggie Pierce.
