The Last Man Standing Season 4 premiered on 3 October 2014. It had 22 episodes, ending on 17 April 2015. Eve’s becoming a new placekicker of school’s football team creates a rift between Vanessa, who is worried that she will get hurt, and Mike, who is excited. Eve becomes the star of the next game which affects her relationship with Justin who is just a benchwarmer on the team. Another conflict of ideas occurs between Ryan and Mike when Boyd gets in trouble at a friend’s home, and situation worsens when Ryan learns that Mike lets Boyd watch violent movies and has also taught him to use guns. Things go worse due to a competition, and Ryan learns about Kristin keeping gun in their house. Mandy gets convinced to make a dress for Vanessa as she has to meet her still attractive college classmates. Wendi tries to brainwash Ed about Mike saying that he gets extra credit which makes Ed to cancel some of Mike’s ideas and vlogs but Mike still does it.

Eve nervously misses an important field goal after Baxter girls tell her that she is representing all girls in school sports. Boyd is scared when Mike’s truck falls into massive sinkhole on road and Ryan scares him more. Carol discusses Proposal C with Baxters which Mike, Eve and Chuck are against of. After the proposal’s failure, Vanessa decides to teach science at Taft, and later even Carol reveals that she wants to go back to teaching. Mike helps Mandy in using re-banding, Vanessa is concerned to know that Bud went to Reno with a married woman, and Mike is upset with Bud as he asked Kristin for taking care of his pot store for some days. A vendor makes Ed to buy large number of tents which he is unable to get rid of. Mike is caught between Ryan and Boyd as Boyd got chicken pox and Kristin confesses that he never got vaccinated so Ryan thinks to get him vaccinated behind Kristin. When Eve beats Kyle in a game, Mandy thinks that he let her win and Kyle lets her to think the same. Mandy tells Kyle to sell his bike when he has an accident.

Eve, after getting frustrated of her coach’s orders, decides on her own which results in touchdown but coach doesn’t take her for next game. Mandy reveals that she is moving out of house but hides about Kyle moving in with her. Mike plans about opening a wild game restaurant and when he asks Kristin, she refuses to work there saying it will ruin their relation but real reason is her fear of failure as Ryan’s job doesn’t provide enough money. Mandy goes hunting with Eve for her design. Vanessa decides to withdraw the check that they gave Ryan and Kristin for their wedding when they decide for a wedding against their tradition and want to use the money for Ryan’s student loan debt. Kyle wants Ed to teach him to play his weekly poker game as he wants to join it. Mike is annoyed with his neighbour, Helen Potts for various reasons, and Eve’s opinion about Ed changes two times after deciding to interview him for a school project.

When Mike decides to help Ed with Chuck’s help, Vanessa tells him not to combine business with friendship but actually she wants a teaching recommendation from Carol. After studying for philosophy, Mandy does extra chores secretly as she doesn’t want credit for it but that is put to test as Vanessa thinks that Eve did everything. Eve announces her break-up with Justin and Mike takes her when Ed invites him for watching a game on his new TV which is actually because Ed had wanted their help for setting-up the TV. During the game, Mandy reveals about how she broke-up and after their comments, she starts wondering if she is a cold, unfeeling person. Mandy is shocked after learning that Kyle pursued Kristin for 6 months even after their breakup. Mike sees the security footage to find culprit behind their destroyed mailbox but he sees Mandy kissing another guy. Kyle asks for Sunday mornings off to attend church services but is confused when Ed refuses, later it is revealed that reason of Ed’s stern attitude is Wendi’s miscarriage. Mike stands-up for Ryan, putting his own beliefs aside, when Ryan gets suspended because of criticising organised religion. Dave takes advantage of Kyle’s kindness, and Mandy’s perspective is changed when she goes to a homeless shelter with Kyle. Mike and Vanessa return early from their anniversary’s plan to a party having underage guests and alcohol whose blame is taken by Mandy, being incharge of house, which was actually of Eve. Kristin becomes nervous about her wedding after learning about Ed’s four failed marriages. Mandy gets her dream internship which she later is said to lose due to her GPA, but later it is revealed that she never lost it when Mike makes her get another one and that the true reason is Kyle’s offer to follow her there.

Outdoor Man Girl becomes a great success but later Kristin tells Ed to stop interfering when he keeps on overruling her decisions. Eve tries to get away from Cammy after Mandy telling her that Cammy likes her as more than a friend. Mandy is embarrassed by Vanessa, and Vanessa is mortified when Larabees tells her that they suspect their son to be dating Eve as she had just set-up Eve with Logan. Victor, Ryan’s father, come sand Ryan tells everyone about his father to be terminally ill which turns out to be wrong when Victor tells Mike about him being misdiagnosed, he also tells that he didn’t reveal this to Ryan as he is finally spending time with him. Vanessa wants to fill their side in church but most of their relatives decline to come.
