English Cartoon Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball Super is the latest instalment in the hugely popular Japanese anime franchise – Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Super is produced by Toei Animation and started its broadcast on July 5, 2015. It is the direct sequel to the Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese television serial prod >> Read More... series in the same franchise. Dragon Ball Super takes place between the Manga comics 518-519. The show follows Goku, its main protagonist after the events of the Majin Boo saga in which he successfully defeats Majin Boo and saves the earth. Years later, Goku has been made into a God, and with his new-found powers, he protects the Earth from various evils.

The series also introduces for the first time, the concept of parallel universes in the Dragon Ball franchise. Goku often travels to these dimensions to fight off various creatures and opponents. The earth on which Goku lives is part of the Universe 7, where he resides in harmony with his family and friends. The show takes inspiration from various stories from the Dragon Ball franchise – the Battle of Gods, the Freeza Saga and Resurrection F from the original Dragon Ball Z franchise. While living, peacefully, Goku encounters a new threat – Beerus, the God of destruction who is regarded as the strongest being in Universe 7.

He wakes up from his sleep to fulfil his prophecy of fighting a Super Saiyan God. To protect the earth, Goku takes on the challenge and transforms into the Super Saiyan God mode and fights Beerus. Despite his best efforts, Goku is unable to defeat Beerus. However, Beerus is impressed and decides to spare Earth from destruction. Goku and Vegeta then leave with Beerus to train and strengthen themselves. While they are away, Freeza’s aides appear on Earth and resurrect him. Freeza raises her forces to destroy Goku and Vegeta. Goku gets wind of Freeza’s plans and returns to earth to fight him. Freeza proves to be a tough opponent.

However, Goku and Vegeta finally defeat him by turning into Super Saiyan Blue. Later, Champa appears and challenges his brother Beerus to a martial arts tournament between the best fighters from their respective universes – 6 and 7. Goku and his friends team up against the team from Universe 6 and are successful in defeating them. After the tournament, Trunks appears from the future and tells Goku about the existence of Goku Black. Goku discovers that Goku Black actually is a God named Zamasu from Universe 10. Zamasu travels across timelines to fight Goku. Goku teams up with Trunks and other fighters and successfully defeats Zamasu.

After Zamasu has been defeated, Zeno, the King of all Universes organizes a martial arts tournament called Tournament of Power. Goku again teams up to represent Universe 6 against teams from other universes. However, the odds change when Zeno announces that worlds belonging to the defeated teams would be wiped out permanently. An exhibition match precedes the actual tournament between Goku and a fighter from Universe 11. While Goku barely manages to beat him, the challenger warns that Jiren, from Universe 11 will crush him quite easily. Goku and Gohan embark on finding the remaining members to represent Universe 6. Dragon Ball Super is currently in broadcast and promises to include some of the best storylines from the Dragon Ball franchise.
