The earlier season ended with Don returning from his trip to California, Betty getting the news of her getting pregnant. Now it’s six months from the Cuban Missile crisis. Sterling Cooper has been sold and we all see how that is affecting the people in the office. The story is very subtly predictable because the issues that they are very commonplace. Don is having trouble in managing both professional and personal lives which is a common experience among people. The story, as expected, is supposed to show the maddening problems that almost every person faces in his life. The stories, to have the show a complex feel to it, are not made consistent with each other, rather they are all jumbled up and one thing moving onto the next quite rapidly. Don pursued Sally’s schoolteacher and prepares for the birth of his third child. There are a lot of subplots like competition between Pete Campbell and Ken Cosgrove for the head of the accounts section, Roger Sterling marrying much younger second wife and so on. The show tangles the stories and characters with historical settings making it nostalgic for the people who have lived through those times, so another worthwhile reason to watch the show. The show is more than anything humane that all will be able to connect with it- people celebrating milestones, breaking over trivial things –the show is model of such crucial element of our lives that it is never constant always. The show ends with Don finding about Betty's relationship with Henry Francis and so he confronts her, condemns her and degrades her. This leads to Betty, being totally frustrated, leaving with the baby along with Henry to get a divorce in Reno. This happens after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Don, Roger, Peggy, Bert, Lane and Pete all together break into the Sterling Cooper office, takes some necessary supplies and files; and Joan and Harry are called to join the company and help them. They finally coming to the conclusion of having a joint agency, with all of them being partners, under the name-Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

The season is 13 episodes long screening from August 16, 2009 to November 8, 2009. The show is broadcasted by AMC channel. The series got positive reviews worldwide with winning the Outstanding Drama Series along with Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for third time. The show was a disparity to the statistics in Writers Guild of America 2006 which show male writers outnumber female writers by 2 to 1; it had seven out of nine writers being women.
