The show represents the Los Angeles Police Department’s experimental division, set up in the imaginary Farmington District of Los Angeles consisting detectives under the name called the Strike Team. The team include Detective Vic Mackey by Michael Chiklis as a leader, a brutal and corrupt detective, along with his close friends Shane Vendrell by Walton Goggins, involved in many dealings with the Strike Team, and Curtis Lemansky by Kenneth Johnson, assailant for the Strike Team.

The team although illegally prosecutes criminals, and try to maintain peace in the neighbourhood.But, also earns profit through robbery and illegal drug protection. The demand of getting a new member for the team had led to near end to the gang. In the series, the team tries to hide up their crimes tackling increasing pressure and eavesdropping by their superiors. Mackey’s ex - wife joins with Dutch and Wyms to send him to jail because of the crimes he had done. Mackey and Gardocki make an unsuccessful try in killing Vendrell in the fight between the Armenian and Mexican gangs.

As revenge, Vendrell makes a local criminal to attack Gardocki, while he attacks Mackey. But his plans were revealed and he with his family escape. Dutch is having problems in dealing with the young serial killer. Macky signs an immunity deal with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, admitting every crime committed by Strike Team, giving enough evidence against Vendrell and Gardocki to get them life imprisonment. Learning this, Vendrell poisons his son and his pregnant wife, and he commits suicide which clears the path for Mackey but confirmed detention for Gardocki and police arrest him in the Barn.

Learning about Wyms illness, Dutch promises to stand with her as a friend. In the witness protection program, to protect Mackey, Corrine and kids are shown their new life. Mackey gets his routine analysis desk job back at ICE while Aceveda is close to being elected as the mayor. As Mackey’s crimes are exposed, no fellow cop or detective in ICE wants to work with him including Olivia Murray. In the last, Mackey retrieves his gun from his desk and leaves the ICE building, following police sirens.
