The story takes place in California where a bizarre murder leads to some serious happenings in the lives of three law-enforcement officers from three different police departments in the State of California. The dead body of Caspere was transported by a man wearing a crow mask. Later, the murder proves to be much more complicated than the normal crimes in the city. It is even suspected that Ben is a member of an occult after finding huge marks on the chest of his dead body. He did business alongside Frank Semyon and was quite known for his thing for rough sex. It turns out that the man behind the mask was an orphan, Lenny, who was a victim of a robbery in his childhood. This was revealed way before the final episode, and it didn’t matter much in the grand finale of the second season.

Like in the first season, the story plot covered mostly the lives of the detectives, and they did a good job even in this season. The major attraction of the second season was indeed Rachael McAdams. The lack of a female detective in the first season was definitely a setback. McAdams, through her role Ani, did an excellent job onscreen (keeping away all the silly mistakes of a sexy actress). She managed to keep the good spirit of an investigator along with carrying out a major operation in the season. Her character rose above the usual masculine cop parade and gave the case some interesting feminine edge. The second season received some major positive reviews. Rotten tomatoes gave a 6.4/10 with 72 reviews. On Metacritic, the show had a score of 61/100 and declared it as “Generally favorable review”.
