The story of the serial focuses on Prince Salim who visits to a temple with his father named as Akbar and his mother named as Jodha Bai. There they meet a saint who tells them that their son will soon become a warrior and will get success in that. In this journey, his son will get against Akbar. Akbar confirmed that he will never allow such things to happen. When their area which is Agra was attacked by the Dacoits, a girl named Saifu and her aunt named Jhillan helped Salim to flee out of the situation. When his father came to know that Saifu saved Salim, he named the girl as ’Anarkali’. The meaning of the name Anarkali is ‘Blossomed Pomegranate’. When they returned to Agra, the bond between Salim and Anarkali gets stronger with time. Salim's parents are happy to see this and they want their friendship to get stronger over time. Akbar's mother named Hamida and his first wife named Ruqaiya got angry and does not want the niece of the servant which is Anarkali to play with Salim.

Ruqaiya makes the plan to kill Salim, but this time also Anarkali gets successful in saving Salim’s life. Salim gets to know about the plot and he started hating his first mother, besides, he adds Rohyphal to Ruqaiya’s milk. Akbar gets to know what his son was planning to do and he gets angry. He decided to send Salim on the battlefield, from where he will learn many things and then he will become mature. This was the peak time when the differences develop between the son and his father. Anarkali tries to contact Salim for asking his wellness at the time she wrote many letters but the letters were unable to reach Salim.
