F.I.R. is a Hindi language TV situation comedy that airs on SAB TV. The show premiered on 31st July, 2006 and is being telecasted on every Saturday and Sunday ever since. The set-up of the show is mainly a police station.
F.I.R. stands for First Information Report. Whenever someone makes a complaint to the police in India, the police make a report of the complaint and it is known as FIR. The story of the sitcom revolves around a female police inspector of Haryana, Chandramukhi Chautala and her 3 inferiors. The 3 inferiors are Gopinath Gandothra - the head constable, Mulayam Singh Gulgule and Billu – constables. There police station is known as Imaan Chowki. The serial shows their lives and the how they try to solve crimes in a comic way.
In every episode a new case comes to the Imaan Chowki. A person or a group of people come to them with a problem or a complaint. Usually the problem is such that it is not even a police case. The cases are like rejections in love, divorce cases, snoring while sleeping, bad cooking etc. Miss Chautala and the team successfully solve the case even if the case does not fall under police duty.

. On 16th March 2013, the serial took a twenty year jump from 2013 to 2033 when Kavita Kaushik left the serial and the character Jwalamukhi Chautala was introduced as the daughter of Chandramukhi. Chandramukhi Chautala returned on 8th June, 2013 and the 20 year jump was reverted. The incidents that took place in 2033 were shown as the dream of constable Gopinath. Since 19 July 2014, F.I.R. was turned into a stand up comedy adopting the idea of Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai.
F.I.R. was nominated for the Indian Telly Awards in the Best Sitcom category in 2009.
