This show aired in India on 1 September 2003 bringing the much hyped ‘Yo Soy Betty, la fea’ (ugly Betty) to India in the name of Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (no on like Jassi). It was aired on the Sony Entertainment Channel from September 2003 to May 2006. The show was very popular in India and ran for almost 4 years with increasing viewership.

The Main Character of Jassi (Jasmeet Walia) was played Mona Singh Mona Singh is a popular Indian model-turned-televi >> Read More... . She had to put up with so much makeup that she kept her identity hidden for almost 2 years. She is shown working at a fashion house in Mumbai which is owned by Armaan Suri (played by Apurva Agnihotri Apurva Agnihotri is an Indian Hindi television ser >> Read More... ).

The Story revolves around the problems Jassi faces in her home and workspace, especially from the people who think of themselves as good-looking. She is abused a lot of times for her looks and personality but, she keeps working on her dream without shedding any thought to other people. Eventually, due to her good behavior and warm heart, she ends up winning the hearts of everyone around her, even her Handsome boss Armaan. They fall in love and end up getting married. Then Jassi is seen taking a huge makeover and starts looking like Mona Singh as we know her today.

This show gained so much popularity that a postal stamp dedicated to Jassi was released by the Indian postal services.
