Historical stories fascinate most adults, and even the new generation of today is fond of those kinds of stories. This story Malavikagnimitram is the immortal story of writer Kalidas. The story revolves around Raja Agnimitra, the main hero of the play, and Malavika, the heroine of the play. The story of the series describes the love between them. They also depict the grandeur places of the era. Agnimitra, the Shunga emperor of Vidisha falls in love with the exiled servant girl, Malavika. The story starts with the introduction of the Raja Agnimitra, his queen, and his complete kingdom. Vakulavalika and Kaumudika discuss King Mayank’s discovery of Malvika in a group portrait. On the first sight itself, her charming face and brightening gorgeous look admire him.

It also makes his queen keep Malavika away from him. As Malavika is one of the pupils of Ganadasa, he praises her intelligence and dancing skills when Vakulavalika inquires him. She tells him that Queen's brother Virasena gifted her. King Vidarbha sends the letter regarding the exchange of prisoners to the king, and the court minister reads it in front of him. But the king denies the letter and resends an expedition for him under Virasena’s commands. Then he meets the court-wit Vidusakha Gautama and asks for an arrangement to meet Malavika. So he creates a dispute between two dancing masters, Ganadasa and Haradatta regarding their master skills. This leads to the competition, which involves both of their pupils compete for each other. Through this exhibition, the King feeds her heart with her gorgeous dance where she is allowed to dance first along with singing. As the motto of this arrangement had fulfilled he postpones the dance of other participants.

Vakulavalika, along with Vidushaka, involves in helping King’s suit. Even the King has two queens he falls for Malavika, which creates anger for Iravati (second queen) and Dharani ( first queen). Some happenings occur in favor of the King to see Malavika. But this causes Iravati to know the plan of the King. The happenings lead Malavika to prove her own identity as a queen. Due to the expedition given for Vidarbha, he sends two captive maid-servants who also recognize Malavika as the missing sister of Madhavasena. Here reopens the flashback, Sumathi with the confusion of Madhavasena's capture, took Mālavikā and her sister in her flight.

But highwaymen attack her while on his way to Agnimitra's capital, the three sisters were separated. Sumati’s sister turned into Parivrajika and stays in Dharani’s court along with the queen. Meanwhile, Virasena secures Malavika and gifts to Dhani. When Parivrajika sees Malavika she identifies her but did not reveal the truth as Malavika was assigned to remain for a year as a servant so that she gets married to a suitable husband. They propose to bestow the one-half part of Yajnasena on Madhavsena. When the queen hears the same and accepts their love. She also makes them united. Then the series concludes as they marry on account of their love, and thus proves the royal love among his other consents.
