Kya qusoor Hai Amla Ka which roughly translated to 'What is Alma’s fault?' in English, is a Hindi adaptation of a Turkish show named Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne. Vedat Türkali is the writer of the story. Phuthi Nakene is the Creative Director. 24 Frames Media is the production house backing the drama series. Shreya Ghoshal, a well-known name in the Hindi Film Industry, has voiced title track of the serial. The show is set in the beautiful locations of Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The protagonist of the show is a girl named Amla.
She is a pretty and fun-loving inspite being an orphan, and her only family is her brother and his wife and their son. She is in love with her childhood friend Dev, and she dream of marrying him and living in a huge house with him. She is engaged and will soon tie the knot with him. Parallely, the show traces the life of a guy named Abeer. Karuna, who sells herbal medicine, adopts him. He has rich friends named Suveer, Evan and Viraj. Dev has to leave the town due to his work, and so Amla goes to see him off.
While returning, Abeer's friends see her and in the influence of alcohol rape her. They show no remorse. Abeer, however, feels terrible. To tame the story and stop his friends from getting arrested, Abeer and Amla get married to each other, and they shift to Mumbai with Karuna and Amla's family. Angry and vengeful Dev starts to threaten Abeer. Meanwhile, Amla's sister-in-law starts to feel that Amla is pregnant. The news later proves to be a fake one. Amla, however, becomes concerned about Dev. She fears that Dev might turn rogue and destroy his life.
She asks Abeer to release her from this forced marriage and stop Dev from destroying his life. She reminds him of how he scarred her life permanently. Her words sadden Abeer as he realizes that he is slowly falling for her. What will Abeer do and how will Amla survive forms the crux of the story. Pankhuri Awasthy plays the title role while Rajveer Singh and
Anant Joshi plays the character of Abeer and Dev respectively. The drama is currently running on the Channel Star Plus.
The show receives appreciation for showcasing a strong women personality.
Amitabh Bachchan, whose movie Pink tackled the menace of the rape culture, promoted the show. The channel wanted to make a socially relevant program considering the current plight of the women in the country with the intention to erase the stigma associated with the victim and change the current situation of the girls of the country.
