Saher is an Urdu word which means awakening. This women dominated serial was aired on Star Plus channel every Thursday at 8.00 p.m. In the traditional Indian male dominated society, this serial was one of its kinds at its time breaking the stereotypes and it brought to Indian television the unending saga of the feminine power which continues till date. This serial starred Dina Pathak Dina Pathak or Deena Pathak was Indian film actor, >> Read More... (the famous dadi of Indian Cinema), Surekha Sikri  Surekha Sikri is known for her character as Kalya >> Read More... (Dadisa of Balika Vadhu) and Nikki Aneja Walia (Kitty Party fame) in lead roles of three protagonist ladies.

The story of the serial revolved around four women, all from the same family but from different generations. The twist in the story arrived when the fourth one, a daughter of the family leaves her husband and returned to her home and she was pregnant at that time! This kind of a situation was considered very bad and unlucky for the girl’s family at that time (even today), so when she returned back , it harasses whole of the family mentally and emotionally. On her returning, first of all, efforts were made to convince her to go back to her husband as it would defame them in society but she stood firm to her decision as the husband had cheated on her. As the time graduates, the family began to understand and support her and eventually she found the true love of her life and married him. Apart from this, the serial also focused on the other relations in family like that between mother-in-law and daughter-n-law and between a husband and wife.
