She is a single woman who loves her freedom and doesn't want to get married. She does not believe in the institution of marriage and thinks it's just a way to lose your freedom to another man. She is very arrogant and is happy in her way. She lives her life the way she wants without caring what others will think.
The other lead played by Juhi is a woman named Saloni who believes in marriage and wants to get married to a man who loves her unconditionally. She wants to devote her life to her husband and is like a girl anyone wants to marry. She lives the way others want her to live. The show revolves around these two characters and the way they see life. In the serial Sakhi always tells Juhi to stop relying on men and be self-dependent, but she never listens to her. She wants Nafisa to be more like her and she wants her to get married to a nice man and start a happy life. The serial was canceled in the middle so it didn't get to a happy ending. It broke many stereotypes in Indian society. The series focused on the things a woman has to suffer in her daily life. The show paved the way for independent female characters in the Indian TV industry.
