Begum’s Drawing Room is an Indian talk show hosted by Begum Nawazish Ali. It was aired on 9X. The show plays hosts to TV celebrities and is popular because of the revelations made by the stars. Also, it has a very interesting appeal due to the Urdu atmosphere.
The host uses Urdu for conversation which is slightly different for the Indian viewers although Urdu is being used in Bollywood music since long. As the title of the program suggests, the setup looks like that of a drawing room. The show has three different segments that come after a first few minutes of talking.
The first segments is a simple question and answer round. The host, Begum Nawazish Ali asks simple questions from the guests. This round is more like an interview. The other two rounds are the juicy and fun ones.One of them called the ‘Beparda Round’. This round reveals the secret of the stars.
This is mostly a segment where the host extracts interesting facts from the stars. The other round is the ‘Samjhao to Jaane Round’ where the host puts forward some of the statements said by the present guests in their interviews or public appearances and guests are asked to explain those statements.
All these segments add spice to the show and really make it fun to watch. The show has a very entertaining and light setting, and the Urdu language makes it even more charming.
