Initially named as ‘Durr-e-Shehwar’ was an Urdu telenovela released in Pakistan on 10th March 2012 on Hum Tv and later on Zindagi Channel in Hindi on 21st October 2014 as ‘Dhoop Chhaon’. This is a story that tells that life in not a bed of roses and one has to make compromises to cope up with people around them. Dhoop Chhaon was produced by Momina Duraid, the producer of many hit shows like ‘
Bezubaan’ and also by Six Sigma Entertainment.
The show depicts the story of a mother Durr-e-Shehwar who has a loving husband Mansoor and a daughter Shandana who is married to her father’s nephew Haider for last eight years and they have a daughter named Sophia. They live a happy life but now some differences start to ruin their relationship. Shandana leaves Haider’s place and comes to stay at her parental home with her daughter. They are highly taken care of by their parents. Meanwhile, Shandana sees that her mother and father share such a lovely bond and that her mother is so deeply loved by Mansoor and becomes even unhappy and demands for a divorce. Mansoor conveys this to her sister, Haider’s mother and the matter complicates even more.
Seeing her daughter in pain, Shandana’s mom tells her the story of life and how she has made sacrifices to adjust to the life of her new home after marriage. She tells her that when she came to her new home after marriage Mansoor’s mother disliked her and that she has slowly and steadily adjusted and also gained the love of her husband, Mansoor. After listening to this Shandana’s perspective of life changes and she tries to find happiness in little things and tries to make things easy for herself and her husband.
Samina Peerzada, who plays Durr-e-Shehwar is a Pakistani actress best recognized for her roles in shows like ‘
Zindagi Gulzar Hai’. She has also done Hollywood films; her first Hollywood film was ‘The Valley’.
