The Desi Style of the world popular singing competition, Indian Idol, has been a big success during the past decade. The show was first put in front the Indian audience in 2004. The seventh edition of the show would be aired later in 2016 and early 2017. This year marks the twenty-first anniversary of Sony Television. All the stars of the show which are aired on the channel, came on the Kapil Sharma Show, to celebrate the occasion.

It is going to be a panel of three judges, the name of third person was not revealed. It is set to follow the similar format of the previous editions. The show might start airing in early 2017,and will take the 8:00 time slots, due to the prime time success of The Kapil Sharma Show. The auditions were conducted in cities like Varanasi, Bhopal, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Raipur, Delhi, Hampi, Pune, and many more. Lakhs of people tried their luck at a shot to fame. Few of them had an exceptional voice while others simply came to have fun. The show will now move into its second round which will take place in their studio in Mumbai.
