Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao is an adaptation of the renowned British reality game show entitled, ‘’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ The show started airing on July 13, 2009 and ends on September 4, 2009, completing a total of 54 days with 15 celebrities all in all. It was broadcasted on Sony Entertainment Television India under the production of Miditech Pvt. Ltd. The hosts of the show include the TV actress and model, along with popular Channel V’s VJ, Yudhishthir Urs.

The concept of the show was the same as ITV’s format in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! A group of celebrities will participate in the show and they need to survive the jungle without any comfort facilities. They will be competing with each other and winner will get the title. Each contestant will receive some rice and soya bean every three days, which is obviously not enough to survive. So in order to survive, they need to join several physically perplexing challenges to win some food. The team needs to nominate their selected participant to play in the daily challenge and become the breadwinner of the day. At the end of each week, the contestant who received the lowest public votes and the contestant who mostly received nominations from the elimination need to go through the elimination task from which they called as the, Maha Jungle Challenge. The winner will have a chance to stay on the game while the loser will be eliminated. Viewers and audiences can vote through telephone calls of SMS.

In the first season of the show, ten Indian personalities were selected to join the game. They flew to Taman Negara, Malaysia and stayed in the jungle of an outdoor camp with no amenities at all. Each of them can bring any two of the selected luxury items, from which they need to specify before the game begins. These ten celebrities will be normally divided into groups and they will be competing against each other every week. More celebrities will be introduced along the way when the previous celebrities get eliminated. 4 winner and actress quits in the middle of the show.

The declared winner of Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao 2009 was the India television actress, known for playing as Miilee from the television series of the same name, . She takes home the crown as the ‘Princes of the Jungle’ and total cash price of Rs. 10-Million.
