Kuch Kehti Hai Yeh Dhun was a musical game show which aired on Sony TV. It was broadcasted on every Monday evening at 8:30 PM. The anchor of the show was Raageshwari, who is a pop singer, and an actor by profession. The show is a fast-paced affair, with high energy and pulsating music. The show promises exciting rounds which keep both the participants and the viewers engrossed.

The nature of the show made Raageshwari a good fit as the anchor, as she is well known for her joyful personality. In the past, she has been the host of various music shows on MTV and Channel V. The show tests the contestants on their knowledge of Hindi film songs and pop music. All the rounds have musical questions. If the contestants get the right answers, there are many different kinds of prizes awarded to them. The game sees three teams of two participants each competing and there are a total of three levels in the show. The first level is a buzzer round. A tune comes on for the teams to guess. The first team to hit the buzzer and guess it correctly wins ten points. The participants have to choose from the categories shown from which to play the tunes. After the categories are over, all teams move on to the second level. The second round involves Raageshwari singing as well. She would sing a song and the lyrics of that song would hide a movie’s name. The contestants need to guess the film’s name and press the buzzer.

They will then have to sing any song from that movie. The team which can guess the tune as well as sing the song gets ten points. The top two teams after this round go to the third round. The bottom team goes off from the show. In the third level, a tune comes on for the teams which they then need to guess. But, before the tune comes on, Raageshwari gives the teams a hint to help guess the same. Both the teams make a bid for the time they will take to make the correct guess. Once the tune gets identified, they will need to sing the song as well. The time could vary from anywhere between six to one second. If the team gets the correct tune and song, they get one point. But, if they are unable to guess, the other team gets the point. This round is independent of the points scored in the previous two rounds. The first team which is able to reach three points wins. In addition to the three levels, there is a fourth bonus round which only the winning team gets to play. If the team wins this round, they get to go on an all-expense paid trip to Singapore. The bonus level is a timed round. To win this, one participant needs to find five monitors in the studio which are next to each other.

A different tune is available on each of the monitors. The player needs to guess the right tune from the four options given on the screen. Sixty seconds are all that they gets to complete the task. If they are able to guess all the five tunes, the team wins two tickets to Singapore. However, if the participant is unable to complete the task, the other team gets a chance. But, they have to do this within the time remaining out of the original sixty seconds allotted.
