Nach Baliye is an Indian dance reality show. Nach Baliye means dancing with your partner or mate. It is a dancing contest for couples. Star Plus broadcasted Nach Baliye 7. It started on 26 April 2015 and ended on 19 July 2015. This season was produced by
Shobha Kapoor and
Ekta Kapoor under their banner ‘Balaji Telefilms’, for the first time. The show was telecasted from Monday to Saturday at night and on Sunday in the evening. Anil Jha is the creator of the show, and
Nitesh Choudhary is the director. The format of the show includes contestants to perform on a different theme, different tune, and different style every week. Then they are given scores by judges depending on their performance. Every week the one couple that gets least public voting and judges’ scores gets eliminated.
Karan Patel and
Rithvik Dhanjani were the hosts for the show.
Preity Zinta, and
Marzi Pestonji were the judges.
Farah Khan replaced Marzi from the judges panel for some episodes as the latter had some other commitments. This season, the focus of the show was on the relationship of the couple, their chemistry not only on their dancing skills due to which couples were made to participate it different tasks that revealed their compatibility quotient. This season had some more spice and extra twists involved. The season had 13 celebrity couples as participants. Vineet Bangera and Smiley Suri were eliminated in the first week, then
Shakti Arora &
Neha Saxena got eliminated. After that, came the turn of
Jay Soni & Pooja Soni in the fourth week followed by
Arpit Ranka & Nidhi Ranka in the fifth week.

Rashami Desai &
Nandish Sandhu became first runner-up of the show. The winner couple of the season was Himmanshoo A. Malhotra &
Amruta Khanvilkar. In the show, Sana Saeed and Deepesh Patel were once eliminated and then came back again as wild cards. Like most of the dance reality shows, it also had Teen Ka Tadka in which Salman Yusuf Khan,
Kunwar Amar came as Tadkas.
Salman Yusuf Khan accompanied Karishma Tanna- Upen Patel, Sargun Mehta accompanied Rashmi Desai- Nandish Sandhu and Mukti Mohan accompanied Sana Saeed- Deepesh Patel. Kunwar Amar danced with Ajisha Shah- Mayuresh Wadkar, while Karanvir Bohra danced with Amruta Khanvilkar- Himmanshoo Malhotra. The winners were given a spacious and stylish all-new Honda Jazz on the finale which was held on 29 September. At the finales, even Chetan Bhagat danced.
The semi-final of the show saw dancing superstar, ultimate jumping jack, Jeetendra, who was accompanied by his producer daughter, Ekta Kapoor. This was the first time that Ekta made her appearance on any reality show. They even grooved on the popular song ‘Dhal Gaya Din’. Ekta wanted Jeetendra to mentor the remaining contestants. Shabbir Ahluwalia, and
Divyanka Tripathi was also present with them. They also danced on special numbers and gave a tribute to Jeetendra. Upen Patel- Karishma Tanna were about to get eliminated in the episode having got the lowest marks, but Jeetendra used his powers and announced that there would be no elimination. Thus, all the remaining four couples went to the finale. There were some controversies also attached with the show. The first was attached to Rashmi Desai and Nandish Sandhu’s relationship.
The show was shown as the game changer for their relationship as they fixed their marriage. Then came the Rashmi Desai’s controversy. Apparently, all the couples were made to stay at a villa, but Rashmi Desai went to LA to perform at an event faking ankle injury. She was spotted in a photo on social media which created huge issues. The makers of the show tried to make her understand to apologize, but she refused as she has already asked from them. When she was questioned on the show, she gained sympathy by talking about her miscarriage and failed marriage.
Upen Patel injured his lower back but still he kept on performing which lead to an acute lower back pain. Even after that, he performed. In the show, Upen Patel proposed Karishma in a filmy style by making the audience to hold a placard having Marry Me written on it, and kids having same placard surrounding her. He even went down to his knees, and she finally accepted Upen’s ring. A lot of controversies surrounded Chetan Bhagat on being the judge of the show. He commented extremely on the couple’s background story which even angered them. He was considered as a self-appointed marriage counselor. The show had dance, drama, and masti. Watch out it, if you have not done it till now.

Last season winner and actor Rithvik Dhanjani and fellow TV actor Karan Patel hosted the show . Amruta Khanvilkar and Himmanshoo A. Malhotra won the seventh season of Nach Baliye, Nandish Sandhu, and Rashami Desai finished in the second place, Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna finished third.

The show in this season had the contestants participating in fun couple activities every week conducted by Rithvik Dhanjani and Karan Patel.
The show generated major controversies throughout the season firstly for its choice of Chetan Bhagat as a judge because people cited his inexperience as a moderator. Reports also emerged that he might be removed from the show mid-way through the season because of his differences with judges and number of contestants including Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel. The show was fun to watch and introduced the people to new types of dance forms, and its new twist of putting the couples through different activities was refreshing.
