Walking with Dinosaurs is an American documentary television miniseries in English which aired from 4 October 1999 to 8 November 1999 on BBC channel and consisted of 6 episodes. The series was created by Tim Haines and was produced by the BBC. The series digs into the life of the ancient animals living in the Mesoxoic Era, depicting dinosaurs and the other species of that time in the style of a nature documentary. The show recreated these extinct species using the combined use of animatronics and computer-generated imagery, which were merged into with live action recordings shot in different places. The series has a Guinness record, being the most expensive documentary series on the basis of expense per minute ever produced.

the first episode depicts about the animals, which lived 220 million years ago that is Late Triassic in Arizona. The animals featured are a female Coelophysis who first searches for food but unable to find any, cannibalise her young ones. She was initially scared off by a male Thrinaxodon when she reaches his pack in search of food. On the other scene, a female Postosuchus attacks the group of Placerias and is successful in hitting one of the members.

The also shows about Peteinosaurus, Plateosaurus, Lungfish and prehistoric Dragonflies.The second episode focuses on the Diplodocus, Allosaurus and many other Late Jurassic animals found in Colorado. The episode also tells about the giants like Stegosaurus and some of the prehistoric insects like Dung Beetle. In episode three, Late Jurassic period is shown which is about 149 million years ago. The dinosaurs are shown in Oxfordshire. It features Ophthalmosaurus, Liopleurodon, Eustreptospondylus and many dinosaurs from that era. The filming of this episode took place in New Caledonia, Bahamas. In episode four, Early Cretaceous period is represented in the background which was around 127 million years ago.

The story begins with a dead male Tropeognathus lying on the beach.The episodes also feature many other dinosaurs with Utahraptor a theropod dinosaur, Dakotadon, Igianodon an ornithopod dinosaur, Tapejara and many others. Theshooting of the episode took place in Tasmania, New Zealand. Episode five shows the Middle Cretaceous period of Antarctica and Australia, which was around 106 million years ago. The show shows Leaellynasaura, Koolasuchus, Australovenator and many other dinosaurs of that period. The shooting of this episode took place in New Zealand. Event six is the Late Cretaceous era of Montana which was around 65.5 million years ago. The show features dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus, Anatotitan, Ankylosaurus and many other dinosaurs. The filming of this episode took place in Chile and New Zealand.
