Mr. and MrsRangegowda is a Kannada comedy-drama that is aired on the primetime Kannada channel, Zee Kannada. The show went on air in the year 2015 being the first episode was telecasted on February 16th, 2015. The show was aired every week, from Monday to Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Mr and Mrs Rangegowda is a family-entertainer with a hint of comedy in it. The story of the show revolves around the male protagonist Rangegowda, an illiterate man from the village.

He is a very good man and is loved by everyone in the village. He is also the head of the village panchayat. Whenever any conflict arises, the villagers rush to him for help; he helps them, and also provides a logical justice. He is considered as a man with a great heart who never does any wrong to anybody. His mother, Kanchana however, does not want any good for Rangegowda. She is the lead antagonist in the story. Kanchana shows that she loves and cares a lot for her son prima-facie to the world.

Rangegowda worships his mother and thinks that there is no greater person in this world than his mother. But Kanchana has evil plans in her thoughts. She keeps her son blinded by her love and ensures that he never gets enough education as it could be a risk for him becoming smart and mightrealise his mother’s evil intentions. The female protagonist of the show, Aishwarya is a smart, well-educated city girl. She has big dreams of marrying an equally intelligent and an educated man. Rangegowda sees Aishwarya for the first time and is instantly in love with her. Due to certain turn of events, Aishwarya ends up getting married to Rangegowda. The story then gradually unfolds as Aishwarya tries to adjust to her new village life. In the due course of time, how she unmasks the reality of Kanchana, saves Rangegowda and shows him the true colours of his mother, is what the show is all about. The male protagonist of the show is played by the youngest new face in Kannada industry, Niranjan and the female protagonist is played by Amrutha Ramamooorthi. She is also known as the ‘curly-haired queen of drama”. She has done some major works in Kannada television industry and also has talents like singing. The show was very well accepted by the audience. The show had run successfully for over a year and had completed 320 episodes by the year 2016.
