The very first personal film awards function of Kerala took place in 1969. This means this is the first state film awards. The most number of awards were bagged by Mohanlal and Mammooty. With six awards under his name, Mohanlal was the first person to get the maximum of awards. Second was Mammooty with five awards. All of these awards were won under different categories.
