With every regional industry growing day by day, the need for these different language awards is also on a roll. Each Cinema wants its actors and technicians to be appreciated and honored for their exceptional performances in their respective Industry. Not only Hindi films, but Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Manipuri, Punjabi, Bengali and Marathi films have craze in their respective states. The actors and technicians in all the film industries deserve recognition.

Department of Cultural Affairs of Government of Kerala managed the Kerala State Film Award. Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actor was introduced in 1969. The Best actor was chosen and had been awarded the Cash Prize. A special jury had been appointed to choose the best performer. A special ceremony had been organized to present this award and the award had been presented by the Chief Minister of Kerala. Kerala Government had given the awards to two different performers in 1969 and 1970.
