The Malayalam version was aired on March 6, 2017, on Mazhavi Manorama at 8.pm daily every Monday to Friday at 8.00 pm.

Karnan is a fantastic television-series based on epic Mahabharatha and exclusively narrates the tale from the birth of Karna to his final days of the Kurukshetra war. Lord Krishna appears and translates the Gita version for the viewers now and then. Karnan was born in a family of Pandavas, and he is the son of Queen Kunti and Lord Surya. When Kunti was not married, she changed the name of Lord Surya and pleased him. Thus, she gives birth to a son, who was a born with an earring and armor on his two hands at the time of delivery which was gifted to him by his father Lord Surya (Sun God).

To avoid criticism from society, princess Kunti abandons the child and leaves the son Karnan floating in a basket on a river. The entire series focuses on how Karnan fought against the misfortunes that came on his way and how he compromises with Pandava brothers sacrificing his life at the end. The show gets extended even after Karnan's death and shows how the Kurukshetra war ended. Karnan was a great warrior and no one could beat him, not even Arjuna. However, his fate did not give him the recognition he deserved in his life. The show ends when the son of Karnan (Vrishketu) and son of Abhimanyu (Parikshit) get trained and how Yudhisthir, after becoming the king of Hastinapur, makes Parikshit the king of Hastinapur and leaves the kingdom forever. The show ends with the story of the destruction of Dwarka and Yadavas and Lord Krishna being killed by a hunter.

The serial got extended further by showing how each of the Pandavas and Draupadi could not reach heaven. Only Yudhisthir enters heaven and Lord Dharma welcomes him to heaven. The episode ends with Lord Krishna receiving Yudhisthir in heaven, all the brothers of Pandavas, Kauravas, and Karnan welcoming Yudhisthir. The last scene shows Lord Krishna blessing everyone.
