Kanata has more wealth than she can handle. Her husband, Vadjiran Suppaiya, is old from the outside but is young inside. He used to be a hunter, with people singing his name at functions and festivals. He still hasn't lost the passion for hunting and often goes hunting. They are waiting for their grandson, Selvam, to return. He used to stay with them when he was a child.

His parents had passed away in a brutal car accident, and since then he has been the responsibility of his grandparents. They took care of all his needs, from health care to education. They sent him abroad to complete his studies. After the completion of his higher studies, he is finally returning home. On the train, he meets a fellow graduate, a woman named Seetha.

Selvam is interested in her, but she isn't interested in him. During the whole journey, she keeps ignoring him. She is not interested in the world around her. Her marriage has been fixed, and she doesn't want to marry him. She is worried about what will happen to her, as she cannot go against the wishes of her parents. Selvam likes her a lot. Even he cannot go against the wishes of his grandmother. He tries to reason with them, but they often end up quarrelling. It is for this reason that he starts hating his grandparents.

He plans to secretly marry Seetha. After dealing with their marriage ceremonies, they pack all their things and plan to settle in Delhi. In Delhi, they face a lot of difficulties, but with the help of a few strangers, they manage a small house to live in. They both find a job for themselves at the same work-place. Due to strict policies of the companies, they have to hide the fact that they are married and instead pretend like they don't know each other.

After much effort, they are finally accepted by Selvam’s grandmother. She wants a grandchild to play with, and the newly wed couple present her with a child who is not theirs. It is now their mission to hide this fact from his grandmother while getting their life back on track.
