Deivam Thandha Veedu was a Tamil TV serial that was aired on Vijay TV during 8pm, every Monday to Friday. The telecast originally began on July 15, 2013. The plot of the series revolved around two cousins who are completely different in character and their lives after marriage. ‘Deivam Thandha Veedu’ was a remake of ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’, a Hindi serial that was aired on the Star Plus channel back in the year 2010. The serial was also dubbed in Telugu and telecasted on MAA TV. This Tamil serial had two main characters, Sita and Priya. Sita was an orphan living with her cousin Priya's family. Sita was illiterate and very innocent whereas Priya was wise and greedy.

The story begins when Chitra Devi who's on a lookout for a bride for her son Ram, chooses Sita as her daughter in law. Priya then becomes jealous of Sita. But Priya falls for Ravi, the cousin of Ram who's already engaged with Uma, the daughter of his mother's friend. Priya's mother devises a plot for Uma to believe that Priya and Ravi are in a relationship. This eventually ends s her engagement to Ravi and so Sita marries Ram while Priya marries Ravi. From then onwards, it’s all about the plotting done by Priya and her mother trying in order to create an ill -reputation of Sita in front of her new family. Sita overcomes them by winning the hearts of everybody in the family.

Deivam Thandha Veedu was a Tamil drama series which was broadcasted on STAR Vijay. The show began on July 15, 2013, and aired daily at 8 PM. This show waa a remake of the Hindi drama series, ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ under the direction of Nagiah Suseendaran. This serial was produced by Ross Petals Entertainment Pvt Limited The story was about the lives of two cousins, Sita (played by Meghna Vincent) and Priya (played by Nisha). The two are totally opposite from each other in character. Sita was very innocent, illiterate and ingenuous to understand the vile intentions of her cousin Priya as well as Priya’s mother.

While Priya was a very greedy and clever person. Chitradevi (played by Sudha Chandran) was a wealthy business woman who wanted her son, Ramkumar (played by Sravan Rajesh ) to marry Sita . Ram agreed to his mother because of his love for her. However, Priya wanted to become a part of Ram’s family. So she and her mother Bhanumathy (played by Kanya Bharathi) devise a plan which ensures that Priya will marry Ravikumar (played by Venkat), who is Ram’s cousin. This triggers a clash between Chitradevi and Priya. The two cousins eventually get married to Ram and Ravi. Both of them are involved in taking care of the family business along with their fathers.

Ram marries Sita to make his mother happy even though he was in love with another girl. Chitradevi intentionally hides the fact about Sita being an illiterate from her son and when Ram discovers it, he starts to hate Sita and finds faults in everything she does. Priya tries everything in her power to increase Ram’s hatred towards Sita . Apart from Ram, Chitradevi’s daughter Kalpana (played by Monika), brings shame to the family by stopping her arranged marriage with a lie and then she is forced to get married to Charan (played by Prakateesh).

The serial has a very interesting plot and has successfully completed around 277 episodes.The show had also starred Sulakshana as Sumitra and T. R. Omana as Paati. The show won the Favourite Fiction Show award at the Vijay Television Awards 2014.

Deivam Thandha Veedu means the ‘House Gifted by Almighty’ in Tamil. This was aired on the Start Vijay Channel since the 15th of July, 2013. It is currently being aired at 8.30 from Mondays to Saturdays. This is been a remake of the Hindi Serial, ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’. Being under the Drama genre, the show portrays about the happenings in and around a regular upper middle-class household and the interaction between the upper-middle-class ladies inside a complex family structure. A high class posh family being run under a well-known business in the town, as a family oriented business which was run by two brothers, and the household was governed by the elder brother’s wife Sudha Chandran as Chithradevi Chakravarthy, and Sudha Chandran was a Bharathanatiyam Dancer in real life, a Film Actress who entered into film industry after an fatal accident in Trichy during 1981 June, where she has lost a leg. The main plot of the story is between, two mother -in – laws, two daughter -in – laws, a daughter and the husbands of all these five house-hold ladies. Belonging to an upper middle-class society with relatives who had their own status in the society, the daughter-in -laws belonged to a not so well versed family background.

.How they are able to sustain in their new rich home and how they tackled the evilness and cunningness of the people in and around the house made the story plot attractive for the home makers. Khanya Bharathi, Meghna Vincent, Sravan Rajesh, Sulakshana and Prakateesh played the important roles in the serial. This serial became very famous for the outfits and the accessories worn by the women in the series , as they were incorporated with different sets of ornaments in every episode, thus making the women viewers more involved in this serial.
