When we enter our college world, we are often scared of it. We often do not feel comfortable with the new people around, and sometimes the new environment does not comfort us. Without friends, we feel lonely and in the beginning, wish to go back home as early as possible. But how about a hostel life? That’s even scarier. We are living the entire day and night with a stranger. Having that thought only scares a few people. We are often confused about how are we going to adjust? What if our thinking and vibes do not match? What if I won’t be able to be friends with anyone there? Will I be a good roommate, a good friend? Will I be a part of a group? How will be the people? Will they be helpful or rude to us? And all such things keep revolving in our heads at least for a week before and after our entry in the hostel.
Be it a college hostel or a hostel that we live in during our working days, our queries and confusions remain the same. Ladies hostel is one such program brought to you by Doordarshan. The tv serial is aired in Tamil. It is a story of a working woman and her life in the hostel. She is a girl from a rural background where coming to a completely different world, amazes her and raises questions in her mind. Along with the working environment where she needs to adjust, her hostel life needs adjustments too. The story of the program revolves around that girl’s confusion and the characters in the hostel that she gets to know about with time. Initially scared, but later she realizes that people are not even that bad. She gets to learn how people in the hostel are always ready to help each other in difficult situations. As time passes, she realizes that she is now a part of new family which comprises of her hostel mates.
