Veettukku veedu, the serial telecasted on Raj Tv, was produced by Tamizhar kalaikoodam, with producers Parthiban and Kalaiselvi, directed by Rajendran. It was shot excellently where it depicted the society of the middle class in Tamilnadu. The story made the viewers, feel as if it happened in their own family and neighbourhood. Kalpana, the daughter of Shiva’s house owner was married earlier and divorced. She tried to marry Shiva, with her parents’ support, but he declines. Even her father told Shiva that, if he marries his daughter, he will give the house as dowry. But Shiva refused to marry Kalpana. He gets married to Dhana. Kalpana, gets jealous by this and starts creating problems for the couple. But Dhana, with smartness and kindness, handles the problems and advices Shiva to follow those remedies. At a point of time, they all become friends and start to live in harmony.

The villain Navabharathi wanted to marry Kalpana and kidnapped her. In the turn of events, he comes to Kalpana’s house with revolver and threatens to kill her mother, if she does not agree him to marry Kalpana. Rest of the story is about dealing with the problems connected to them. Dhana is a bold and brave lady with a kind heart and she helps the underpriviledged women in various ways. Meena Kumari has shown more of her acting skills in this serial. The cast also included, Sumangali, Sellathurai, Shobana, Anbu, Jayalakshmi , Sathyasai, Sweety, Manager Seenu and others as character artists, who have done the roles efficiently. The music is given by Kumar, with Kamakodiyan lyrics as title song sung by M.L.N.Karthikeyan in his melodious voice. The serial Veettuku veedu was one of the favourites among the viewers.
