Recently, the most popular show on Jaya TV is Remembering Amma where songs are featuring the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu - Late Jayalalitha is played back to back in a loop. Aval Appadithan, is a family drama show which is aired on Jaya TV. The show telecasted for the first time on 9th September 2013. The show telecasts five days a week from Monday to Saturday at 8.30 PM on Jaya TV. Aval Appadithan, aired about 64 episodes till 6 December 2013 and then till February 14, the show completed about 109 episodes in total. Initially, the show aired at 9.30PM but later it got shifted to the 8.30 PM slot.
Approximate run time for the show is 22-23 minutes. Aval Appadithan, is written and directed by the famous R.Elavarasan and stars Shilpa, O. R. Sundhar, and
Easwari Rao. Now, Easwari Rao is a beloved actress who has already set a mark in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam Film Industries mainly in the 1990s. The show shot in a multi-camera setup is a single-season program. The show had replaced the show Vaidehi, in the 9.30 PM slot and later got replaced by a new serial Chithiram Pesuthadi in the 8.30 PM slot. On the other hand, Aval Appadithan is also a famous Tamil movie of 1978, starring the legendary Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, and Supriya. The plot is however very different from the serial which telecasts on Jaya TV.
The plot of the movie is about the actress Supriya, who plays the role of a beautiful girl Manju. Manju is brought up in a dysfunctional family, and she keeps on moving from one relationship to another ultimately becoming a cynical woman. Gradually she meets two different kind of men in her life-Thyagu played by Rajinikanth, who is an arrogant male chauvinist and Arun played by Kamal Hassan who is a gentle, kind-hearted man who has come to Chennai to make a documentary on women. The story advances with Arun falling in love with Manju but then complications arise due to Thyagu. The rest of the story is how Manju rediscovers herself through various incidences that happen related to Thyagu and Arun.
