Maruthavaneram is a Tamil TV show that airs on the channel Vijay TV every Wednesday at 4 pm. Maruthavaneram is a promotional program that features the works of GEM Hospitals: Institute of Laparoscopy, Gastroenterology and Robotic Surgery Centre. It is one of India’s top laparoscopy centers and institutes. In the show, doctors of the hospital tell the viewers about various procedures done in the hospital. They briefly talk about how the procedure is done, what kinds of operations are present, how the technology came into existence, difficulties of the procedure, and the success rates.
The doctors also talk about rare medical conditions that are treated in the hospital. They explain the symptoms, precautions to be taken, and the proper treatment to be given. A part of the episode is sometimes shot in an operation theatre where the head doctor talks about the procedure before or after the surgery. Interviews are taken from the patient and their family members. The hospital also performs organ transplant surgeries. Reviews are also taken from donors and recipients.
