Gruhapravesam belongs to drama genre. It comes on Zee Telugu from Monday to Friday at 2:00 pm. Nerupam and Jayalalitha are part of the cast of the show. The show revolves around Vaidhehi. Kittemma dies, but before it, she writes all her property in the name of the first grandson of the family. Surya Kantham and Chaya Devi are two daughter-in-laws of the family who are behind the property. After the will is made, they both want their daughter-in-law to give birth to a boy first. Kantham along with her husband is incharge of a jewelry shop.

One day, she goes to the shop and slaps the manager as he gives discounts to ladies only and tells him to give it to gents only from now onwards. Sattamma, the daughter-in-law of Kantham, tells everyone that she is pregnant with a girl on which Chaya Devi gets happy and starts saying that Kantham’s house is going to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. She even gives a silver bowl to Sattamma, but Kantham feels insulted by her words and thus throws the plate from her hand. Kantham announces that she will do Shankara’s marriage again which leaves everyone shocked especially Bhagyamma but Kantham decides to do it after thebodravi festival.

Sattamma is angry with the decision, so Bhagyamma tells her to talk slowly and gives her sweet saying that Shankara brought it for her as she is pregnant which makes her emotional and she starts comparing Bhagyamma with her mother. Vaidehi gives a huge amount of food to Vishnu who has to eat it as he has no other option. In the shop, Vishnu tells his uncle to be aside and starts showing jewelry to Srimathi and Vaidehi after welcoming them inside.

When sales person tells him that he would manage, he doesn’t have to do this then Vishnu signals him to not tell anyone that he knows him. On Bodrai festival, everyone follows Vaidehi, Chittemma, and Bhagyamma who were carrying Bonam whereas Vishnu tries to not come in front of his family. Later, Bhagyamma is held by Vaidehi who is about to drop the Bonam and tells her to walk carefully.

Chayadevi teases Kantham, telling her that she would get the aarthi first by the priest as she gave a nose ring for the Goddess to which Kantham insults her after removing necklace, saying that nose ring is very tiny compared to her necklace, but she gets angry when Sattamma praises Chayadevi for her nose ring.

Chaya Devi insults Kantham telling that her son only gives birth to daughters so she would never get the property and then stops her from slapping her saying to be in limits but later she gets scared when Kantham tells her that she saw that she gave money to Pothuraju. Kantham gets angry on the priest when he asks for whom she is seeing matches and then tells him about her decision related to Shankara’s second marriage.

On the other hand, Bhagyamma is getting emotional after seeing her wedding album to which Bhanumathi asks her why she is seeing it. Bhagyamma in emotional state tells Shankara that she wants to hug him for last time, but she lies that she was just uncomfortable inside when Sattemma comes there and asks as to why she was crying, so she goes outside taking Smiley with her. Then, Sattemma confronts Shankara that why did he get ready to marry again.

Kantham tells the priest to find a good match for Shankara after seeing his horoscope to which her husband tells the priest that also check that if he could give birth to a baby or not which makes Kantham angry. Shankara prays not to let Bhagyamma face injustice and gets shocked when the priest tells him that he can give birth according to his horoscope. Meanwhile, Vishnu tells Vaidehi that he should leave to meet a director as soon as possible. Vaidehi suspects Vishnu and decides to find the truth.

Sathyavathi tells Vishnu not to come along as they are going to look for Vaidehi’s match, but Vishnu decides to follow her secretly. When Satyavathi and priest come to their house, Kantham makes sure to lock the room where Sattamma and her daughter is and tells them not to come out. Vaidehi marries Shankara who is ten years elder to her, sacrificing her future, just to save her family and treat her father.

Sathyavathi, even though being step-mother of Vaidehi, is more than a mother to her who wants the best for her future. Vishnu loves Vaidehi, but she gets married to Shankara. After marriage, she gets to know about his first marriage and that her mother-in-law hid this fact to get a grandson. But she is a girl having high morals so now how will Satyavathi and Vaidehi react to this situation especially the injustice to Sattama. The rest story shows their effort to change the attitude of the mother-in-law.
