‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ which translates to ‘Who among you is a Millionaire’ in English, is a mega-popular television reality show in South. Popularly abbreviated as MEK, it is an Indian regional television game show created by Abhinav Surabhi, produced by Big Synergy and presented in Telugu. Owned by Sony Pictures Television Company, it is the official adaptation of the internationally acclaimed ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire?’ in the UK and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in India in the Hindi language. After the successful wrap up of Season 1, the very first episode of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu Season 2 was being aired on 9th December 2014 at 09:30 p.m. on Maa Tv. To mark this occasion, the team of Season 2 also released a 42 seconds promo before the final commencement of the show on YouTube.

Nagarjuna as a host kept on enthralling the audience in Season 2 earning huge TRPs and ratings soared up to 8.2 TVR on the very first episode to the rating of week 50. The show was mainly popular due to the unprecedented emotional connect brought by Nagarjuna and his empathy and towering presence which convinced the producers of Maa Tv to launch Season 2 just four months after Season 1. It targeted the female audience and amassed an impressive average of 10.1 TVR on Female Target Group & 6.98 TVR among the Male Target Group. The channel Maa Tv, as well as celebrity actor-cum- host Nagarjuna, were ecstatic on such a response. Thereby, hoping for more improvement in the ratings for the forthcoming episodes of the same. The pioneer step of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, Season 2 started with the registration process of participating through Call for Entry (CFE) process which commenced from 9th October 2014, 19:00 hours and continued for ten days until 18th October 2014, 18:30 hours. During this process, a single question flashed every day at 07:30 p.m. on Maa-Tv, and those interested could respond back before 06:30 p.m. the next day. In this way, the selection of the participants took place under the supervision of the International Audit Firm- Ernst & Young. A total of 55 episodes were being aired between 9th December 2014 to 27th February 2015, the prize money being one crore for each episode.
