She was born in Darbhanga, Bihar. She did her schooling from Kolkata & Nepal. Then she went to Delhi for higher studies & graduated from Delhi University.

There she joined the drama societies & trained herself to be a good actor. She did so good that she bagged the Best Actor Award in Delhi University. Then she went to Mumbai & she got her big break in Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. This show introduced her as an actor convincingly. Before of her talent got featured in many famous shows like Jiya Jale, Rakt Sambhand & many more. Now she is working in famous TV soap Kumkum Bhagya & show is doing exceptionally well.

She has traditional looks with potential to do any kind of roles. In her career she has played a variety of roles which makes her a valuable asset for producers & directors. She has been approached by Bollywood producers & we should not be surprised if we see her in a Bollywood sooner or later.
